Boys water polo will be up against the Temple City Rams Monday, Sept. 30, away.

Boys varsity will be finishing their tournament against Cathedral Phantoms tomorrow, away. They were triumphant against the Peninsula Panthers, 11-6 but lost to the JSerra Catholic Lions, 17-16.

“Since we moved up to Division 3, the opponents will be a lot tougher, and it will be even more of a challenge for us. Practice has also been tougher so that we are prepared for the new division and new teams,” said Rene Borja, senior varsity goalie.

JV water polo earned second place at the fifth Annual JV Bull Run Diamond Bar tournament, winning three out of four games. Varsity did not participate.

I’m excited for this season because I get to partake in the varsity team as a freshman, not to mention alone.  I’m also excited to spend time with the team and get to know them more,” said varsity freshman Oscar Luna.

On Sept. 11, varsity water polo won at a non-conference game against Claremont, 13-8, home.

“I’m excited to see the growth in this team. I always felt that the boys program was going to take a bit longer to establish than the girls but now that we have a great group of kids to coach, I’m excited to see their progress through the season and hopefully repeat as league champs,” said Jonathan Ruiz, JV coach.
