United Student Body (USB) is in the process of planning the annual winter homecoming for Jan. 23-27.

Winter homecoming is an event inviting alumni back “home” to their high school, as well as providing activities for students and community members.

Food trucks will be present after school Jan. 27 near Byers Gymnasium. Information about which food trucks will attend will be announced the week before the event.

“Events like these happen a few times in the years we have in high school. Students should go to events like winter homecoming to enjoy their time here,” said Antonio Viramontes, USB vice president.

Varsity basketball boys and girls will be playing the Alhambra Moors, defending their victories from last year. The homecoming game will be Jan. 27 with varsity girls playing at 5:15 p.m. and varsity boys playing at 7 p.m.

Guests are allowed to join students in attending the homecoming game and buy from food trucks after school.

Schedules for nominations and election of the homecoming court are still being determined.

Homecoming king and queen will be announced during the night rally, which will be Jan. 26.

“I think it is very important because by everyone participating, it shows togetherness and excitement in our campus. It will show what the students, teachers and staff members have to offer for our last homecoming,” said Brittany Phan, USB president.

Spirit Week themes days are on the same week as homecoming and have yet to be decided.

Tickets for the basketball game will be $7 at the door. Students can purchase tickets for the same price in advance during the week of homecoming at the student store.
