Advanced Placement and Honors Night took place Feb. 12

Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors Night is on Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.
A general orientation presentation for parents of freshmen will be followed by a question-and-answer session with current AP and Honors students. Those attending will be introduced to the possible course selections available for the next school year.
“We started this to allow AP and Honors teachers to inform students, so class time wouldn’t be interrupted and those teachers would be able to communicate to students at a much more appropriate time,” said Assistant Principal Constantino Duarte.
During the course of the evening, current and prospective students and their parents will learn what courses are offered, ask questions of student panels and teachers and grasp a better understanding of what summer assignments are required for each class.
Throughout the event, students will be given information about which classes are recommended for their interests and possible college major. Students will also learn how taking AP and Honors classes will prepare them for higher education.
