Looking to dominate preseason, the boys’ strikers will face the La Habra Highlanders Dec. 12 away.

The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 3 but was canceled due to rain. Their game against the California Condors was also canceled because of the muddy field and was rescheduled to Dec. 5.

The varsity strikers struggled against the Condors, losing 4-0.

“We started off on the wrong foot, and I think that we could’ve done a lot better,” said varsity center midfielder Leopoldo Fuentes. “It was our first game. Most of us are new to varsity and we played scared, but over time that fear will become a hunger to beat the next team to come.”

The team defeated the Don Bosco Tigers in a Nov. 24 scrimmage, 1-0.

The JV strikers currently hold a preseason record of 0-0-1. In a scrimmage Nov. 24, they defeated the Tigers with a score of 6-0. The strikers tied in a Dec. 5 game against the Condors, 1-1.
